No one likes handling a heavy and bulky vacuum cleaner.
It’ll be hard to lug around and difficult to store! I bought Eureka 437AZ Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum because it claims to be lightweight, weighing around 11 pounds. I think it doesn’t weigh exactly 11 pounds, but I’m pretty happy with the overall weight. Not too heavy for me to take out and use on a daily basis.

I was also happy with the accessories included in my purchase from Amazon – it came with a dusting brush, stretch hose, crevice wand, and power paw attachment. They are really useful for reaching difficult places, cleaning stairs, and cleaning upholstery. Did I mention that it can also be used on vertical surfaces? It’s great for cleaning hidden spaces behind cupboards, racks, and shelves.
For me, the best thing about this Eureka 437AZ Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum is its versatility – it works equally well on carpets and floors.
I bought this for two reasons:
1. It has 2 in 1 Function: For Thorough and Quick Cleaning
Gone are the days where you need 2 (or more) separate vacuums just because each vacuum “specializes” in certain type of cleaning. Some vacuums are good for carpets only, while others are more suited for quick cleaning or touch-ups. The Eureka 437AZ Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum is good for both – it combines the features of an upright vacuum and a stick vacuum.
You probably already know that an upright vacuum has good suction power and impressive performance. However, it may be slightly bulky compared to a stick vacuum. On the other hand, a stick vacuum is easy to use and convenient but less powerful. Combining the best features for upright and stick gives this vacuum an advantage over the other models.
I’ll gladly pull it out for days I feel like doing heavy cleaning around the house, or on days I just want to do a quick cleaning before guests come over.

2. Good Filtration with HEPA Filter
I already mentioned in my post (5 Tips to Choose the Best Vacuum Cleaner) that good filtration is very important when choosing the right vacuum. It’s especially important for me because my son’s breathing gets irritated real easily when the house is not rid of allergens. This vacuum comes with HEPA filter which pleases me a lot.
But, there are drawbacks even for the best machines. These drawbacks are not a big problem for me; I think I can live with it.
1. Vacuum Filter and Dust Container Needs To Be Cleaned Frequently
To maintain the strong suction power, I find that I have to clean the cylinder and filter after every 2-3 uses. This can be quite troublesome because I need to use gloves to remove the dirt and hair. I wish there is a better and less messy way to do this.
2. Noisy
The Eureka 437AZ Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum can be quite noisy compared to the other models I’ve used previously. However, it’s something I can bear with because it doesn’t bother anyone else (I’ll usually vacuum when no one else is around).

Have you tried using cordless electrical equipment or tool? If you have, I’m sure you know what I mean when I say I REALLY like them. I find it easy to carry around and I don’t have to worry about cord length. What’s there not to like about them? Most importantly, I don’t have to go through the trouble to look for power sockets.
That’s why I decided to try out this vacuum – Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum. When I have to vacuum different areas of my house, I get irked when the cord isn’t long enough or I have to plug/unplug it many times. It’s just troublesome! This vacuum however, works great. I’ve used cordless vacuum before this but performance wise, this ranks top.

Compact and Lightweight
The main purpose of a cordless is so that you can use it even in hard-to-reach places. It claims to weigh less than 5 pounds, which I think is true because it’s so light I can easily lift it up and use it on walls and in small spaces (closet). I’ve tried cleaning cobwebs unsuccessfully using broom. Believe me, it can be messy and you’ll end up catching a few sneezes.
After I’m done, I’ll just put it back into the wall mount rack and it’ll charge. The Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum runs on a five-cell battery that you can easily replace.

You know those little messes like food and hair that you get around your furniture and in the kitchen? This machine cleans them well. One Drawback – You Can Find Vacuums with Better Suction Power
Somehow, the suction power is not as good as corded ones. I’ve used it to pick up different things – hair, fur, dust, mud, and crumbs; but I’ve to say that it doesn’t pick EVERYTHING up. You may need to run it through the area twice. But I’ll definitely pull this one out for quick cleaning or if I’m pressed for time because I don’t have to plug it into a power socket. For such a great machine, this is the only drawback.

I’ve had days where I like to sit back, relax, and let the machine do the cleaning for me. Of course, this isn’t laziness (I’d tell my friends that!). It’s just having some “me” time to unwind and spend time with the kids. For this reason, I decided to buy a robot vacuum. I’d say that it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I bought the iRobot 560 Roomba Vacuuming Robot and I’m happy to say that I’ve not regretted it (though price wise, it sits on the high end range). For the amount of time and energy saved, I think it’s a worthwhile long term investment. I chose this model because I need a vacuum that works efficiently and is easy to handle.
A Smart Design
As you might have already know, I mentioned in my other post (Best Handheld Vacuum for Under $30) that I own a Labrador retriever and she sheds hair at an amazing rate. I personally find it hard to keep up with the cleaning. With the iRobot 560 Roomba Vacuuming Robot, I just switch it on before I leave for work and it’ll work its way around the house. It works quietly and cleans difficult-to-reach places like under the furniture. I’m impressed that it comes with a “lighthouse” feature which marks sections so it’ll know which room to clean next. It’s also smart enough to avoid being tangled in carpet and cords (though I avoid leaving cords lying around).
At the end of the day, I come home to find that it has gathered fur, dust, dirt, and bits that I overlooked when cleaning the house. How impressive!

Easy to Clean
The vacuum gathers dust into a bagless cup and I only need to empty the cup after 2 or 3 rounds of cleaning. Of course, this depends on the amount of dust and dirt I have at home. Cleaning the cup and brush is fairly easy. It’s not messy at all, compared to other vacuums (where things can get quite unsightly).
Works on Hard Wood, Tiled Floor and Carpet
The fact that the iRobot 560 Roomba Vacuuming Robot works on most surfaces makes it a darling. I don’t have to worry that it’ll roam to areas it cannot clean. I just switch it on and let it roam around the house. If there’s a particular room I want it to clean, I can adjust the settings. After roaming for a period of time, it returns to the charging station.

The Hoover WindTunnel Canister Vacuum works well on hard floor and carpet (it has 3 useful, user-friendly settings). I’ve used it around my house without any problem and it picks up almost everything within seconds; from hair to dust and food.

The Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge is a must have for carpet owners. It deep cleans carpet and uses water system to remove stains effectively. If you have carpet, you’ll know that you need to send it for professional cleaning routinely to keep it looking new. Dry vacuum alone won’t be enough.
This vacuum does so much more and the results are as good as sending it for professional cleaning. I decided to give this a try because I cannot overhaul my carpet and get it to the cleaners. It’s just so much easier to do it myself, though buying the machine may cost quite a bit.

To use this, I’ll fill up the water tank with hot water and add detergent to another compartment (the vacuum mixes both so that I don’t have to). Basically, there are 2 tanks to separate clean water from dirty water. The tank for dirty water can be taken off quite easily (I’ve not experienced spills so far). I’ll use this on all my carpets, stairs, and upholstery.

It’s very important to deep clean your carpet!
It helps to get rid of stubborn stains and semi-permanent dirt marks on the carpet surface. Plus, there are germs and bacteria on the surface that can only be killed using hot water and disinfectant. Since my sons always hang out with their friends and laze on the carpet, I try my best to make sure that it’s clean and dust-free. This is easy since I bought Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge.
This vacuum comes with 5 settings (high to low speed) and you can easily choose which setting to use depending on the amount of dirt on your carpet. Having pet around is a blissful thing but having to deal with pet hair or fur isn’t. Some animals shed more hair than others and therefore you need a good hair pickup to keep your house clean.
My Labrador retriever sheds hair all year round and I need a good vacuum to clean up after her. My boys enjoy her company and we let her roam freely around my house. My Solution to Pet Hair Removal
This is the best solution to my pet hair dilemmas. Previously, I’ve tried sticky tape roller and clothing brush but none of them seems to be able to get rid of pet hair effectively. I own a dog, a Labrador retriever and she sheds hair consistently throughout the year. Using the Bissell 3106A Featherweight Lightweight Vacuum, pet hair doesn’t bother me much. I’ll just take it out from my closet and work it on the different areas in my house.
Since my closet is really small, I like the fact that this vacuum fits in nicely without taking too much space. It’s light and easy to assemble.

Simple and Efficient
If you are looking for a simple yet efficient vacuum, then this is the one. I bought the Bissell 3106A Featherweight Lightweight Vacuum mainly to do light chores, for example cleaning kitchen floor after a cookout session with my friends. I will also pull it out to clean my family hall and bedroom.
Cheap and It’s a Pretty Good Buy
For less than $25, you get a vacuum that works really well on floors. You can even convert it to a handheld vacuum when you take the vacuum head off. In my experience, it doesn’t break down easily. This surprised me because I expected lesser performance, given the price. I know of other more expensive models but they are not as durable as this. When the time comes for you to discard it, you won’t feel much regret.
A Few Snags…
Although my first impression of this vacuum was awesome, I eventually had difficulty with some of its functions. The first time I used it to clean up kitchen mess, it picked up larger objects poorly. My other vacuum can pick up objects with no difficulty. I’d suggest taking the vacuum head off if you want to clean up big mess.
It claims to work on carpets, floors, upholstery, draperies, and stairs but I don’t think so. It performed superbly on floors but not so on carpets. If you want to use this frequently for carpets, you may want to consider other vacuums. It’s not very easy to push around plus it doesn’t pick up dust and hair as well on carpet surface.
The cord is too short for my liking. I really appreciate longer cords so that I can use it in my house without having to unplug and plug it in different sockets every time. The dust filter is also quite weak- it doesn’t filter as well as the higher end vacuums. That’s why it’s really cheap I guess.
In General, I Would Recommend It for Easy Cleaning
Use the Bissell 3106A Featherweight Lightweight Vacuum for occasional clean ups and for in-between house maintenance. For the awesome price, it’s hard to find another vacuum that does a better job. But, this isn’t suited for thorough cleaning because it doesn’t work well on carpets plus it has a weak filtration system.
I like it because it’s cheap. You can get a good deal from Amazon.

Honestly, I did not expect much from this over-sized hockey puck. But pressing the big, round button on top of the unit will set it off to its mission; getting the dirt out of your carpet with its two high-speed, counter-rotating brushes and sending it off into the dust bin. It will circle around your lamp-stand, inches its way under the sofa and have no problem transitioning from a carpeted flooring to a hardwood floor.
Technology changes but always with flaws
Although it vacuums the floor very satisfyingly, it does have its flaws and simple solution. First, you can’t set a timed schedule for vacuuming with the iRobot 530 Roomba Vacuuming Robot. However, it’s easy enough to start it when you’re heading out for work in the morning. Secondly, it takes its time to finish vacuuming – about 45 minutes spent vacuuming a middle sized room. But, no worries. The vacuum cleaner is silent so you can set it off from its dock and let it does its work while you’re watching TV or reading a book.
The only thing that is uncorrectable, is the fact that it can’t get to the corners well. So, if you can’t stand those white particle lurking in the corner, get some wet tissues to blot them up easily.
The iRobot 530 Roomba Vacuuming Robot would be great for all of those who are lazy to vacuum around their house. Half of the fun of owning this vacuum cleaner is watching it makes its way around the room and spinning around, trying to figure out where to go next.
